The Rotary Club of Solon was chartered in May 2010 and is one of over 30,000 Rotary clubs worldwide affiliated with Rotary International, the oldest and largest service organization in the world.  With the motto of "Service Above Self," the Club engages in a variety of service activities, both locally and internationally,  in furtherance of its mission to "enhance the minds and bodies of our children."

The Rotary Club of Solon has multiple fundraisers per year:
  • The "Bowl for Water," at Freeway Lanes in the fall, raises funds for international clean drinking water projects.  Funds from the 2015 and 2016 events will go to a club project to drill a well in Chiltiupan, El Salvador, that will provide reliable drinking water to several hundred people and help to irrigate a sustainable farm that will improve the standard of living for the local residents.
  • "Night at the Races," held the night before the Super Bowl, is a simulated horse-racing event that raises funds for local service and charity projects.
The Club currently meets the second and fourth Fridays of the month, beginning at 7:15 a.m., at Freeway Lanes, 33185 Bainbridge Road.  Periodically, dinner meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at Signature of Solon and happy hours are held from time to time at Freeway Lanes.  Please check the club schedule on this website for details and future meeting dates, as schedules may vary.  Guests interested in Rotary are welcome to attend, and we extend a cordial welcome to visiting Rotarians from other clubs and districts.
