As the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and cloud computing drives demand for new data centers across the country, communities are facing important questions about economic development, energy and water use, infrastructure, and the costs and benefits of these massive projects. Danny is the host of the Building Local Power podcast and author of several books examining the relationship between large corporations, independent businesses, and local communities. He is also the former owner of the Raven Book Store, named Publishers Weekly's 2022 Bookstore of the Year. Please join us on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 from 1:30 – 6:30pm at the Chagrin Valley Islamic Center for the Solon Mobile Food Pantry! Food insecurity affects communities of all kinds. The Solon Rotary Club has been serving local residents through the Solon Mobile Food Pantry uninterrupted since 2012. The pantry is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The food packing shift runs from 1:30 – 3:30pm and the food distribution shift from 4:30 – 6:30pm. You may volunteer for one or both shifts. Income and geographic restrictions apply to those seeking assistance – income eligibility is restricted to 200% of federal poverty guidelines and recipients should be Cuyahoga or Geauga County residents. Komen Lindsay will share how Susan G. Komen is advancing breast cancer research, supporting patients and families, advocating for better outcomes, and expanding its impact throughout Northeast Ohio. She'll also discuss ways individuals and organizations can help support Komen's life-saving mission. Joining Lindsay will be Monica Nelson, Komen's Development Manager for Northeast Ohio, who works closely with volunteers, community partners, and supporters across our region.
